Fields of Application

Roofcote solar reflective roof aluminium paint may be applied to a wide range of substrates including metal and bitumen coatings together with roofing felt. Its bright aluminium colour gives good heat- and light-reflective properties, ideal for reducing solar heat pick-up on dark roofs, tanks and similar surfaces.

  • Modified roof membranes
  • Metal roofs
  • Walls and parapets

Features

  • UV resistant
  • Highly reflective
  • Easy to apply

Surface preparation

As with all surface coatings, good preparation is of paramount
importance to the success and long-life of the system.

  • Ensure that the surface to be treated is dry and sound, free of
loose, dusting or flaking particles and free from contaminants
    such as grease and fungus.
  • New bituminous surfaces should weather for 8 weeks before
    coating.

Application

  • Roofcote should be stirred thoroughly before and during use to
ensure even distribution of the aluminium pigment.
  • If moss or lichen is present, this should be removed and the
surface treated with Fungicide in accordance with its application
    instructions before proceeding.

NOTE: Roofcote must be stirred well before use.
Continue to stir thoroughly during use.

  • Roofcote can be applied by brush or roller.
  • If the finishing paint is to be applied over existing bitumen
coatings it is important that such treatments are thoroughly dry
(ie applied after at least 14 days). Take care to see that brushing is kept to a minimum to prevent softening of the substrate.
  • Two coats of finishing paint is recommended. The first coat must be allowed to dry thoroughly before the second coat is applied.
