Neodyl

Expansion joint material

Neodyl is a joint bridging waterproofing material used for the treatment of expansion joints on flat roofs of buildings. Neodyl is made from synthetic rubber. It is compatible with conventional built-up roofing, elastomeric modified bitumen membranes and mastic asphalt.

Fields of Application

Neodyl is intended for the waterproofing of expansion joints of:

  • Parking decks
  • Flat roofs

Features

  • Long durability
  • Rot proof
  • Excellent pliability
  • High resistance to shearing and to aging
  • Easy to apply
  • Compatible with any type of substrate

Application

The minimum width of Neodyl is to be 250 mm.

Neodyl must always be adhered to the substrate on either side
of the pleat. It is secured by torch-on fusion onto a base layer
(Derbigum SP) which itself is adhered by fusion to the previously
primed concrete.

Attention must be given during fixing to ensure the Neodyl
strip has a sufficiently deep inverted pleat so that it will not be
extended when the joint is in the maximum opening position.
